The Division of Financial Services (DFS) is led by the Vice President for Finance. Reporting to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, DFS provides central financial functions in support of the university’s academic mission.

Vice President for Finance Simon Allen leads the Division of Financial Services (DFS), which includes the Office of the University Controller, Offices of the University Treasurer and Bursar, Insurance and Risk Services, Cornell University Real Estate, Asset Management and Analytical Services, Financial Administration, and Financial Communications.
Simon previously served as associate vice president for asset management and financial strategy and joined Cornell in September 2018. Before joining Cornell, he was a managing director and senior portfolio manager at Amundi Pioneer Asset Management. Before Amundi, he worked at Motorola in various strategy and business intelligence roles.
Simon holds a Bachelor of Science with honors in urban estate management from the University of Westminster, an MBA from Warwick University’s Business School, and a Master of Environmental Management from Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment.
