Our strategic sourcing team recently collaborated with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and University Communications on two projects to help Cornell achieve savings on purchases of laboratory (lab) coats and offset and multicolor printing.
In June 2016, department safety representatives were surveyed to understand and identify needs for lab coats for employees working in laboratory and animal care areas. The survey data exposed inequities in lab coat pricing and usage, and provided an opportunity for Procurement and EHS to develop a cost-effective program to meet most of the campus’ needs. The new program offers the following advantages:
EHS is planning follow-up discussions with key campus users and teams to ensure the program meets campus needs. For information on EHS’s efforts promoting health, safety, and environmental stewardship, visit the EHS website.
This spring, we partnered with University Communications to create a comprehensive list of printing suppliers with a wide set of specialties, ranging from offset and multicolor printing to the large signage creation. A listing of services offered by each supplier is available on our Offset and Multicolor Printing Services Comparison page.
The agreements with these suppliers include pricing discounts. In addition, these suppliers have committed to providing high-quality, individualized customer service to guide you through the order and design process.
