Debt

The University Treasurer's office is responsible to obtain external debt financing to fund capital projects and working capital of the university, using many resources to finance capital projects such as:

  • Tax-exempt debt
  • Taxable debt
  • Lines of credit

The department also:

  • Provides guidance to the Cornell community on different financing arrangements
  • Monitors the university's private use compliance related to tax-exempt debt
  • Manages the internal loan system that Cornell community uses to apply to borrow money from the university to finance projects or purchase capital equipment

If you have any questions, please contact Carolann Saggese, Director, Debt, at (607) 342-7474.
