Scheduled Service Change - Migrate Authentication from ADFS to Microsoft Entra ID

Tuesday, May 26, 2026 - 9:00am

To modernize and improve identity security, between May 26 and June 12, 2026 some accounts are scheduled to migrate from ADFS to Microsoft Entra ID. Little impact is expected, however Entra ID does require two-step login. Those who have not activated Duo will need to do so.

What to expect after the migration:

The next time an affected individual logs in they will be prompted to re-authenticate through Microsoft Entra ID. They should sign in with their existing organizational credentials (NetID) when prompted.

They may be prompted to verify their identity via two-step login (Duo).

Those who have not set up Duo will need to do so. Resources available for setting up Duo:

Duo Quick-Start Guide

Duo Detailed Setup Guide

If someone experiences issues authenticating after this change, they should contact the IT Service Desk.
