<div>On Monday, Oct 5, 2026, from 4-5pm, Zoom Notes, also called My Notes, will be enabled for the Cornell community.<br><br>In Zoom meetings, this will appear as a new clickable icon in the upper right of the Zoom window and will also be available via the Zoom desktop application. Zoom Notes provides a dedicated, built-in AI note-taking app, which allows people to capture thoughts, action items, and more from within a Zoom Meeting. In addition, Notes can be used collaboratively with other participants in a meeting, as well as shared with others outside of meetings. It can generate transcripts and AI summaries, including participant annotation, and can do so with Zoom meetings, other meeting apps, and with in-person meetings. This tool is also a participant tool, rather than a host-only tool, putting Zoom's AI tools in the hands of everyone. <br><br>Zoom meeting owners must still authorize the use of Notes by participants for their meetings in order for it to generate meeting transcripts and summaries, and this setting will be off by default, so individuals looking to make use of Zoom Notes in Zoom Meetings will still need the host to authorize the tool to capture meeting content.
