Performance Issue - Zoom for Outlook add-in performance issues

Friday, January 31, 2025 - 12:13pm

<div><strong>Update</strong>: The current performance issues appear to be resulting from browsers with stricter security settings blocking the Zoom for Outlook add-in used with Outlook on the web. Outlook desktop clients are not affected. The current workaround requires reducing browser security settings related to cross-site tracking and/or third-party cookies. IT Staff continue to work with the vendor to confirm these findings and resolve the cases that are not responding to the security setting workaround.&nbsp;<br><br>A scheduled change to Zoom for Outlook add-in has resulted in issues with authenticating to the Zoom add-in via Outlook on the web on several browsers. People attempting to use the Zoom for Outlook add-in may be unable to authenticate successfully, and may receive prompts to try again.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>The issue appears to be affecting Google Chrome, Safari, and Edge.&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Firefox appears unaffected. An InPrivate window in Edge may work. The Zoom for Outlook add-in for the Outlook desktop client appears unaffected.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Meetings can also be scheduled in the Zoom desktop client normally and these will be added to the user's Outlook calendar if they have enabled the Zoom calendar integration.</div>
