Strategic Sourcing Manager Glenn Morey is retiring

Posted: May 30, 2018

After 39 years of service, Strategic Sourcing Manager Glenn Morey will be retiring from Cornell Procurement and Payment Services on July 30, 2018. His last day in the office is June 1. Glenn is responsible for the procurement areas of energy sourcing; computer technology; consulting services; telecommunications; and maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO). Glenn has been involved with the Energy Risk Oversight Committee (EROC), the Audio-Video (AV) Special Interest Group, and the bundle committees on campus. Glenn will be remembered not only for his hard work and expertise, but also for his unconditional dedication, grace, and congeniality. He will be deeply missed.

In addition to his work at Cornell, Glenn has been a member of the Tompkins County Legislature since 2015. Glenn was appointed this year to serve on the Budget Capital and Personnel, Transportation, and the Facilities and Infrastructure committees. Prior to becoming a legislator, he also served as Town of Groton Supervisor for 15 years and as Village of Groton Trustee for 10 years. Glenn has been a member of the Groton Youth Commission since 1989 and has served as chair since 1998. He also serves on the Groton Community Council.

Glenn is looking forwarding to enjoying time at the cottage with his lovely wife, Jean, and his son and grandchildren and to fishing and continuing his community involvement and volunteer work.

His retirement celebration is planned for June 20.
