Based on user feedback, we have added new features to the Spend Viz query screens (e.g., pcard transaction creation date, org reference id, org doc number) and created new reports to help review procurement card transactions and e-SHOP orders, and monitor workflow, unauthorized purchase orders, balances on recurring purchase orders, etc.
Spend Viz is a spend analysis tool that we provided to campus units in 2010. Currently, there are over 420 users of the web-based version of Spend Viz, with the majority of users working within the financial transaction and business service centers. With the implementation of the Kuali Financial System (KFS) in 2012, we updated the Spend Viz tool to integrate with KFS and enhanced it to allow users to query the KFS data. With these most recent enhancements, we have continued to improve upon the query ability, which provides access to data for payments, purchase orders, procurement card transactions, and disbursement vouchers.
In April, a keyword search feature, called Find a Supplier was added to Spend Viz. This feature, which is available to all faculty, staff members, and students, allows users to identify existing vendors in KFS so that their orders can be placed quickly. Users can enter a keyword or commodity code number, and the search feature will identify vendors who have already provided items to Cornell that match either the keyword or the commodity code description.
