Students & Parents

The Office of the Bursar serves many purposes, including acting as a central clearinghouse and billing agent for charges and credits placed on student's Bursar bill by their college, Campus Life, Cornell Health, Transportation Services, or other units. Bursar Account Services is available to answer questions about your bursar bill, payment options, registration requirements, and much more.

For Incoming Students and Parents

Use the following checklist to get set up for electronic billing and year-end tax information.

Students

• Review the Bursar and CornellCard Billing Procedures.
• Review the Registration Requirements.
• Sign up for Cashnet, our online billing and payment system. In support of Cornell's sustainability efforts, bills are only issued electronically. Students must sign up for Cashnet first, and then grant access through to other users/payers who will be paying the bill.
• Sign up for direct deposit for your student refunds.
• Sign your financial responsibility agreement.
• Sign up for CornellCard, which allows you to use your Cornell student ID card to make on-campus purchases.

Parents

• Review the Bursar and CornellCard Billing Procedures.
• Complete the Cashnet sign-up process, once the student has completed signup and has granted access to you.
• Review the Billing Deadlines.
• Learn about the Cornell Installment Plan to make payments on anticipated tuition and associated costs.
